We have started to spray our tee complexes with Roundup to control the winter annuals. This is a time consuming project. We have to do this by hand. Winter annuals are made up of mostly Poa annua or Annual Rye grass. It germinates in early fall and grows throughout the fall and winter. If let unchecked it can out compete our Zoysia grass and cause considerable thinning.
This is a shot of Poa on a tee. If we would let this go that entire areas would be one big green patch of Poa.
